Make your bed

I get it, I really do. What's the point of making your bed when you're going to get back into it at the end of the day? This is one of the smallest tasks that makes maximum impact. Your bed is the focal point of your bedroom and the simple act of making it up will make your space immediately look neater.

Clear and wipe down counters

Cleaning your counters will force you to move things around, which will hopefully inspire you to put things where they belong instead of creating clutter. Bonus: no sticky counters or crumb trails.

Fluff and fold

Straighten sofa cushions, plump accent pillows, and fold throw blankets to make your living room look more streamlined. My trick for getting down pillows as fluffy as possible is to gently drop them on the (clean) floor, seam-side down, on each side to equally distribute feathers and re-fluff any dented spots. Optional: karate chop the top.

Contain clutter

Lego pieces, magazines, tablets, and any other often used small items can be tossed into a nearby basket or bin for easy cleanup.

Have any time saving tips for keeping your home decluttered? I'd love to hear them.
